All the Charm of the Luberon in Menerbes

Sitting at the top of the Calavon valley and voted one of “most beautiful villages in France,” Menerbes has a unique location at 240 meters of altitude. Nestled in the heart of the vineyards of the Luberon, it offers visitors a characteristic and appealing Provencal program.

Rich in history, Menerbes has established itself as an important village with its many monuments, such as the vineyard of the Citadel and the Château Le Castellet. An important witness to religious events that took place in medieval times, the village was named after the Roman goddess Minerva and promises a getaway combining nature, Provencal cuisine, and secrets from history.

Characterized by a multitude of narrow cobblestone streets that give it its incredible charm, Menerbes has many must-see attractions including the picturesque Corkscrew Museum dedicated to this small tool invented in the seventeenth century and which houses over 1,200 models. On the Place de Horloge, the Truffle and Wine Centre invites fans of fine food on a unique culinary journey, while others may prefer to visit the Chapelle Saint-Blaise or the Abbey of Saint-Hilaire with its views to the valley and mountains.

For nature lovers, Menerbes also offers great hiking. An amazing opportunity to discover the extent of the surrounding landscapes of the Luberon, that have charmed, among others, famous painters such as Picasso and Nicolas de Stael, who once lived in Menerbes.
